The Superior Series clutch kit delivers the heat resistance and holding power that Kevlar facings are known for, while maintaining the smooth engagement characteristics you need for daily driving and spirited street use. Kevlar friction material increases its coefficient of friction as temperature rises--meaning this clutch actually grips harder under aggressive use rather than fading like organic compounds.
Every Superior Series clutch disk is hand-assembled at MDL's facility, where each unit is double-checked for tolerances and riveting before it ships. The diaphragm pressure plate provides even clamping force across the entire friction surface, eliminating hot spots that lead to premature wear and chatter. Combined with the sprung hub design, this setup delivers clean engagement without the harshness of solid-hub race clutches.
This kit fits AMC applications requiring an 11-inch clutch disk with the 12-5/8 inch equalizer bolt pattern and 26-spline input shaft (1-1/8 inch diameter). Designed for mechanical clutch actuation (fork-style linkage)--not hydraulic throwout bearings. Note: Throwout bearing is sold separately and must be matched to your specific bellhousing configuration. Pilot bearing and alignment tool included for a complete installation.
