This single-disk setup is purpose-built for AMC applications with mechanical clutch actuation, providing reliable torque transfer for street-driven builds up to 250 horsepower.
The heart of this kit is the hand-built organic/organic disk featuring a sprung hub design that smooths engagement while absorbing drivetrain shock. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, every Superior clutch disk is assembled by hand at MDL's facility in Caldwell, Idaho--ensuring proper balance, precise tolerances, and consistent quality before it ever leaves the shop. The organic facings on both sides provide excellent modulation for daily driving while delivering dependable holding power.
The diaphragm pressure plate offers superior clamping force distribution compared to traditional three-finger designs, resulting in lighter pedal effort and longer component life. With its 11-5/8-inch bolt circle, this pressure plate bolts directly to AMC flywheels using the factory pattern. The mechanical release system eliminates hydraulic complexity while maintaining predictable, smooth operation.
