The MDL Superior Ford 10" Long Pattern Clutch Kit solves these problems with dual Kevlar facings that deliver consistent pedal feel and double the lifespan of conventional organic disks—without sacrificing street manners.
The engineering starts with the clutch disk itself. Full Kevlar facings on both the pressure plate and flywheel sides provide progressive engagement characteristics that work equally well in stop-and-go traffic or under hard acceleration. The fully sprung hub incorporates dampening springs to absorb driveline shock, while the marcel spring ensures complete clutch release and smooth power transfer. This combination eliminates the grabby, on-off engagement typical of racing clutches while still delivering 400 ft-lbs of holding power for modified small blocks.
The diaphragm pressure plate features MDL's precise 3-1/8" bolt spacing pattern with 5/16" bolts, ensuring proper fit to Ford 10" long pattern flywheels commonly found on 289/302 applications. The included cable throwout bearing is purpose-built for mechanical linkage conversions—perfect for T5 swaps retaining cable clutch actuation. The 10 spline 1-1/16" hub matches the input shaft on 10-spline TREMEC T5 transmissions.
