Ceramics have a higher coefficient of friction than organic or Kevlar materials, so they bite harder and hold more power given the same clamping force. This Big Block Change Over clutch set is engineered for Ford applications requiring aggressive engagement, extreme heat resistance, and reliable performance under demanding conditions.
Ceramic friction surfaces are built for higher horsepower applications, quicker shifts in road racing, and the hard-hitting bite needed for drag racing launches. The iron content embedded in MDL's ceramic material creates more friction as temperature rises, making this clutch ideal for sustained abuse where heat management is critical.
