The Superior Kevlar/Kevlar clutch kit solves the heat and wear problems that plague high-performance applications. With dual Kevlar friction surfaces rated at 600 lb-ft, this clutch is purpose-built for extreme duty conditions where organic compounds would fade or burn. Kevlar facings last 2-3 times longer than organic material and deliver smooth, progressive engagement that works equally well in stop-and-go traffic or during aggressive track sessions.
The engineering centers on Kevlar's exceptional thermal properties and wear characteristics. Unlike organic compounds that lose holding power as temperatures climb, Kevlar maintains its grip under repeated high-heat cycles. The para-aramid fiber construction provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio, keeping rotational mass low while delivering reliable torque transfer. The sprung hub design absorbs drivetrain shock loads and smooths engagement for improved drivability on the street.
The diaphragm pressure plate delivers a significant advantage over Long-style three-finger designs. The Belleville spring provides lighter pedal effort and smoother engagement while actually increasing clamping force as the disc wears over its service life. This means consistent performance from installation through the clutch's final miles, without the punishing pedal effort that Long-style clutches demand.
