The MDL Superior Clutch Set combines full Kevlar friction material on both disc surfaces with a Ford 11" Long pattern diaphragm pressure plate, creating a package purpose-built for performance street driving and open-track abuse. Rated at 500 ft-lbs of torque, this kit bridges the gap between streetable engagement and serious holding power.
Kevlar friction material gains torque capacity as temperatures climb - the exact opposite of organic compounds that fade under heat. This makes full Kevlar/Kevlar facings ideal for spirited driving, repeated hard launches, and track sessions where clutch temps stay elevated. The material is also non-abrasive, so it won't score your flywheel or pressure plate surfaces the way ceramic facings can.
The Ford dual-pattern pressure plate accepts flywheels with either 3-3/8" or 12-3/8" bolt circle configurations, maximizing compatibility across Ford small block 302, 351, and 400M applications. The 10-spline x 1-1/8" sprung hub disc is engineered specifically for hydraulic release systems, ensuring proper engagement geometry when paired with modern hydraulic throwout bearings or slave cylinders.
