Kevlar friction material outperforms organic compounds under heat—where organic facings lose grip as temperature climbs, Kevlar actually increases its coefficient of friction, making it ideal for aggressive launches and sustained high-RPM driving.
MDL hand-builds every clutch disk in-house, double-riveting the facings and checking each assembly for proper marcel spring tension, correct facing thickness, and precise balance before it ships. This isn't mass-produced overseas assembly—it's precision work by drivetrain specialists who understand that a clutch is only as good as its weakest rivet. The 26-spline hub spreads torque load across more contact area than 10-spline designs, reducing stress on individual splines during hard launches.
The 12-3/8" equidistant bolt pattern fits Ford flywheels with six evenly-spaced 3/8"-16 threaded holes—commonly found on 164-tooth flywheels used with 11" diaphragm clutches. The diaphragm pressure plate design provides linear pedal feel and consistent clamping force throughout the clutch's service life, with noticeably lighter pedal effort than traditional long-style pressure plates. Sprung hub construction isolates transmission input gears from engine firing pulses during engagement, reducing chatter and extending synchro life.
Rated at 600 ft-lbs, this clutch set handles performance street driving and open track applications. The mechanical release bearing system works with factory linkage or cable actuation—no hydraulic conversion required. Pressure plate bolts are not included; use 3/8"-16 fasteners torqued to specification.
