Description
Ford Big Block Change Over applications present a unique clutch fitment challenge: the 11.5" long bolt pattern required by many 429/460 and 351M/400 conversions doesn't match standard small block or FE clutch setups. This MDL Superior BBCO clutch set solves that problem with an 11.5" long pattern diaphragm pressure plate engineered specifically for these conversions, paired with a complete kit that gets you bolted up and running.
The hybrid friction material design delivers the best of both worlds. Kevlar on the pressure plate side provides aggressive initial bite and superior heat resistance under hard use, while the steel-backed organic facing on the flywheel side ensures smooth engagement and extended service life. This combination outperforms full organic setups in holding power while maintaining the street-friendly driveability that pure Kevlar lacks. The sprung hub design absorbs drivetrain shock for smoother operation and longer component life. Rated at 500 lb-ft, this setup handles serious power without sacrificing pedal feel.
All Superior clutch disks are hand-built in-house at MDL's Caldwell, Idaho facility. Each disk is checked and double-checked for accuracy and proper tolerances before shipping, so you receive a ready-to-install premium piece right out of the box. The complete kit includes everything needed for installation: mechanical throw-out bearing, pilot bushing, and alignment tool.
