Finding reliable, precision-built clutch components for Ford Flathead V8 engines gets harder every year. This Superior Series clutch kit solves that problem with a complete pressure plate and disk assembly purpose-built for flathead applications requiring a 26-spline x 1-1/8" input shaft -- the spline count commonly found in GM T-5 conversions using Camaro-style transmissions.
Every Superior clutch disk is hand-built at MDL's facility to ensure exacting tolerances that mass-produced disks simply cannot match. The organic/organic facing material delivers excellent heat dissipation and smooth, progressive engagement -- ideal characteristics for flathead torque delivery on the street or at the track. The sprung hub design absorbs drivetrain shock and vibration, protecting your transmission input shaft while providing a more refined driving experience.
The 10.5" diaphragm pressure plate uses an 11-5/8" equidistant bolt pattern and requires 3/8" pressure plate bolts for proper mounting. This kit is rated at 300 lb-ft of holding capacity -- well-suited for street driving and moderate racing applications. The included Ford Flathead pilot bearing and .670" tip alignment tool ensure correct installation from the start. Designed specifically for mechanical clutch release setups; no throwout bearing is included with this kit.
