    Description

    Ford Flathead V8 owners face a real challenge sourcing quality clutch components for their classic powerplants. MDL's Superior clutch kit solves this problem with a purpose-built diaphragm pressure plate system engineered specifically for the Flathead's 10" long pattern configuration. The 6-bolt pattern divides into 3 groups of 2 bolts with 3.125" center-to-center spacing, matching correct long pattern flywheel applications.

    The dual Kevlar friction material specification is the heart of this kit's performance advantage. Unlike single-surface organic clutches that fade under heat, the Kevlar/Kevlar facing combination delivers consistent bite from cold startup through sustained high-RPM operation. Kevlar's superior thermal properties resist glazing and maintain coefficient of friction even when temperatures climb during spirited driving or open track sessions. With a 400 ft-lb torque capacity, this kit handles serious performance builds without the harsh engagement characteristics of full ceramic setups.

    Every clutch disk is hand-assembled at MDL's Caldwell, Idaho facility using precision-ground components. The sprung hub design absorbs driveline shock while maintaining positive engagement, protecting both the transmission input shaft and the flywheel from impact damage during aggressive shifts. This isn't a mass-produced part - each disk receives individual inspection before packaging, ensuring the tolerances and quality that Flathead builders demand.
