Built around a diaphragm pressure plate design, this kit delivers the increased clamp pressure necessary for high-torque muscle car applications operating in the RPM range where street cars actually live - without the harsh engagement characteristics of racing clutches.
The organic friction material on both sides of the disc ensures civilized street manners with smooth, progressive engagement that won't chatter or grab in stop-and-go traffic. Unlike aggressive sintered or ceramic facings designed for the strip, this organic compound provides forgiving operation while still handling the torque demands of mild to moderate performance builds. The sprung-hub disc design further dampens drivetrain shock for quiet, refined operation.
The mechanical throw-out bearing eliminates hydraulic system complexity - just connect to your existing Z-bar or cable linkage and drive. Both Chevy and BOP (Buick-Olds-Pontiac) pilot bushings are included, giving you the flexibility to swap between different GM engine platforms without chasing down additional parts.
