The ceramic facing's higher coefficient of friction means this 11" setup grips like a larger diameter clutch while maintaining the compact packaging your application demands.
Ceramics and semi-metallics have a higher coefficient of friction than the other materials MDL offers, so they bite harder and hold more power given the same clamping force. MDL ceramics contain iron particles that actually create more friction as the material gets hotter--the opposite of fade. This makes the Kevlar/ceramic combination ideal for higher horsepower applications, quicker shifts in road racing, and hard-hitting launches in drag racing. When going to a larger diameter clutch or heavier pressure plate isn't an option, this friction material combination delivers the holding power you need in a compact package.
