    Description

    Extracting maximum performance from a high-torque LS engine requires a clutch that bridges the gap between aggressive track bite and civilized street manners. This dual-friction Superior clutch disc solves that challenge by pairing Kevlar on the flywheel side with a steel-backed organic facing on the pressure plate side. The result is a clutch that hooks hard under load yet remains smooth and predictable in stop-and-go traffic.

    Why the hybrid configuration? Kevlar's coefficient of friction actually increases with temperature—meaning torque capacity goes up, not down, under hard use. It also resists burning and delivers exceptional longevity. Meanwhile, the steel-backed organic side provides the smooth modulation and forgiving engagement drivers expect on the street. This combination delivers more grip than a pure organic disc while maintaining better driveability than an all-Kevlar setup—the sweet spot for street performance and weekend track duty.

    Every Superior clutch disc is hand-built in MDL's Caldwell, Idaho facility. Each disc goes through rigorous quality control—checked and double-checked for tolerances—before it ships. The 11" diaphragm pressure plate provides high clamping force without excessive pedal effort, and the sprung hub dampens engagement shock for chatter-free operation. Rated at 500 lb-ft, this kit is sized right for naturally aspirated and moderately boosted LS builds.

    Fits GM LS engines paired with T56 or T56 Magnum transmissions using a 26-spline, 1-1/8" input shaft. Designed exclusively for hydraulic clutch actuation systems. Note: No throwout bearing or pilot bearing included—order separately based on your bellhousing and crankshaft configuration. Made in the USA with MDL's 1-year defect-free warranty and lifetime technical support.
