Description
Stock clutches in modified 1999-2004 4.6L Cobras become the weak link as soon as power modifications enter the picture. This Superior Kevlar/Kevlar clutch kit delivers 550 ft-lb torque capacity to handle supercharged, nitrous, or aggressive naturally aspirated builds while maintaining street-friendly pedal feel and engagement characteristics.
The dual Kevlar friction facings on both sides of the 11" disk provide superior heat resistance and longer service life compared to organic materials, without the harsh engagement of full ceramic setups. The sprung hub isolates drivetrain shock loads and dampens gear rattle for improved drivability in daily-driven applications. The 26-spline x 1-1/8" hub provides significantly more strength than the factory 10-spline design, though it requires a matching upgraded input shaft.
The nodular iron diaphragm pressure plate uses the Ford 11" metric 10mm bolt pattern with dowel pin positioning for precise alignment. The diaphragm design is specifically profiled for cable release actuation, ensuring proper throwout bearing travel and consistent pedal effort throughout the clutch's service life.
