The dual Kevlar friction surfaces provide superior heat management and extended life compared to organic facings, making this clutch ideal for performance street machines that see occasional open track duty. With a 475 HP torque capacity, it handles aggressive driving without fade.
The engineered lower lever height specifically accommodates hydraulic release systems, eliminating the binding and inconsistent engagement common when running a standard mechanical-release pressure plate with a hydraulic throwout bearing or slave cylinder. The diaphragm pressure plate design uses a Belleville spring that delivers consistent clamp pressure while maintaining comfortable pedal effort—a key advantage for daily-driven performance vehicles where drivability matters as much as grip.
Every Superior clutch disc is hand-built at MDL's facility in Caldwell, Idaho. Each assembly is checked for exacting tolerances and flawless operation before it goes in the box. The sprung hub design absorbs drivetrain shock during aggressive launches and gear changes, protecting both the clutch and transmission input shaft. The 11-5/8" EQ bolt pattern ensures proper fitment to AMC flywheels and bellhousings.
