Description
Built for 2005-up Mustang owners who demand more than factory clutch performance, this Superior clutch set delivers the grip and longevity needed for modified 4.6L and 5.0L Coyote engines. The Kevlar facing paired with steel-backed organic material creates the ideal balance - aggressive enough to handle 450 ft-lb of torque yet smooth enough for daily driving without the harshness of a full race setup.
The engineering centers on the diaphragm pressure plate's clutch finger profile specifically designed for hydraulic release systems used in S197 and S550 Mustangs. This design ensures consistent clamp load and clean engagement across the full operating range, eliminating the binding and grabbiness common with generic aftermarket clutches that weren't designed around hydraulic actuation.
Each clutch disk is hand-built at MDL's facility in Caldwell, Idaho, and inspected twice for exacting tolerances before it goes in the box. The sprung hub design absorbs driveline shock and reduces gear rattle, keeping the clutch streetable while you're making power. This Performance Street Plus rated clutch handles bolt-ons, aggressive tuning, and spirited driving without compromise.
