Stock Mustang clutches wear out. When it is time to replace yours, this MDL Superior Organic Clutch Kit delivers a direct-fit upgrade for 2005-and-newer Mustangs equipped with 4.6L or 5.0L engines and 10-spline manual transmissions. The 11-inch metric bolt pattern with 10mm hardware matches the late-model Ford flywheel pattern, ensuring bolt-on installation without modification.
The organic/organic friction facings provide the smooth, progressive engagement that street-driven Mustangs demand. Unlike aggressive puck-style discs that can chatter at low speeds or make stop-and-go traffic miserable, this setup engages linearly and quietly while still delivering 350 lb-ft of holding capacity. The sprung hub design further isolates drivetrain vibration and reduces the gear rattle that plagues some clutch upgrades.
MDL designed the diaphragm pressure plate with a clutch finger profile specifically for hydraulic release systems. This ensures proper geometry with the concentric slave cylinder used in S197 and S550 Mustangs, eliminating binding or premature wear on the release mechanism. Every Superior clutch disc is hand-built in-house, allowing MDL to verify tolerances and quality before the kit ships.
