The ceramic/Kevlar hybrid disc combines two proven friction materials: ceramic provides the hard-hitting bite and heat resistance demanded by high-RPM launches, while Kevlar adds durability under repeated abuse. This combination excels in road racing, autocross, and drag strip applications where quick engagement and fade-free performance are non-negotiable.
Ceramic and semi-metallic friction materials offer a higher coefficient of friction than organic compounds, meaning they bite harder and hold more power given the same clamping force. MDL ceramics incorporate iron particles that actually increase friction as temperature rises - exactly what you need when the pressure plate is getting hammered lap after lap or run after run. The severe duty diaphragm pressure plate delivers the clamping force this disc material demands, while maintaining reasonable pedal effort for street-driven cars.
