Description
Swapping to a TREMEC TKO or TKX in your Fox body Mustang means the factory driveshaft no longer fits. The TKO and TKX use a 31-spline output shaft - larger than stock - and the transmission's overall length differs from the original T5. This custom steel driveshaft solves both problems with application-specific engineering that ensures proper fitment and reliable power transfer to your Ford 8.8 rear axle.
The foundation is a 3.0-inch diameter DOM (drawn over mandrel) steel tube that delivers significantly more torsional strength than smaller factory units. DOM tubing provides consistent wall thickness and superior concentricity compared to standard ERW tubing, critical for a driveshaft that must spin true at highway speeds. The forged steel 31-spline slip yoke mates directly to the TKO or TKX output shaft, handling the increased torque capacity these transmissions deliver - up to 600 lb-ft.
