Tremec TKX 5-speed single overdrive manual shift transmisison packge is a great addition for 1966 Corvette equipped with a Chevy small or big block V8. Capable of handling over 600ft/lbs of Torgue, with several gear ratios available, a TKX is a great choice with a single overdrive reducing rpms, increasing fuel mileage but more importantly increasing smiles per mile. Tremec designed the TKX to bolt up to OEM four speed bellhousings. Side shifted TKX to place the shifter through the stock shifter location to retain the OEM appearance and feel. It is worth noting the body mounts to the frame be freash to retain transmission to body clearance.
