Tremec T-5 5-speed single overdrive manual shift transmisison packge is light weight and compact. Capable of handling over 330ft/lbs of Torgue, a T-5 is a cost effective choice with a single overdrive reducing rpms, increasing fuel mileage but more importantly increasing smiles per mile. Modern Driveline has developed several shift location options to install a five speed into your 1949-53 Ford Flat head car. Our front shift T-5 has been designed to move the shifter forward to match the OEM transmission and provide comfortable shifting. Pairing the Ford V8 geared front shift T-5 to a flathead is a perfect match for today modern driving needs. T-5 are only available in a 2.95:1 first gear ratio with an optional .73:1 od. Being the small of the Tremec five speeds, the T-5 will fit into most factory tunnel or below the floor without major modications. This kit is designed for early four bolt Ford Narrow pattern bellhousing with a shaft mounted fork release.
