Description
TREMEC Magnum swaps into second-generation F-bodies present a common challenge: the factory shifter won't clear the tunnel opening, and even when it fits, it positions the shift lever too far forward or too low. The MDL Qwik Stik solves both problems with a precision-machined assembly that mounts directly to your Magnum transmission and brings the shifter up into factory position—no tunnel modifications required.
The Qwik Stik's smaller turret profile is specifically engineered for '70–'81 Camaro and Firebird applications where tunnel clearance is tight. The offset stub configuration gives you flexibility: use the 1" left, straight up or .5" forward offset for optimal console clearance, run it straight up for centered positioning, or .5" forward when seat or console interference is an issue. Billet aluminum construction shaves weight compared to cast alternatives while the anodized finish resists wear from years of aggressive shifting.
What sets the Qwik Stik apart is its Belleville washer detent system. Unlike conventional detent mechanisms, this spring-loaded design delivers tactile, precise feedback on every gear engagement—especially the critical 2-3 shift where many shifters feel vague. The no-stops architecture means there are no plastic or metal stops to break or wear out; servicing is straightforward, and the shifter maintains consistent feel over hundreds of thousands of shifts.
Designed for rear shifter position with rear socket configuration, this shifter mounts directly to your TREMEC Magnum using existing bolt locations. Attach your preferred shift lever, boot, and knob to the 7/8-inch on-center stub and you're ready to row gears. Engineered, machined, and assembled entirely in the United States.
