Description
Swapping a TREMEC TKO500 or TKO600 into a second-gen F-body often leaves the stock shifter sitting in the wrong spot for your console and tunnel opening. The Qwik Stik solves that problem with a precision-engineered short-throw shifter assembly designed specifically for 1970-1981 Camaro and Firebird applications. It brings the shift lever up into the factory shifter position so your interior looks correct and shifts feel right.
Built from CNC-machined billet aluminum, the Qwik Stik mounts directly to your TKO tailshaft housing and eliminates the guesswork of shifter placement. The stub offers multiple offset options: 1" left, straight up or .5" backward, so you can dial in exactly where you need it. The result is a compact, low-profile installation that clears tight tunnels and fits under factory consoles.
The Belleville washer detent system is what separates the Qwik Stik from vague-feeling factory units. These stacked spring washers deliver a firm, positive detent feel that makes bang-shifting second to third as crisp as it should be. And because this shifter uses no mechanical stops, there are no plastic or metal tabs to break or wear out. When service is needed, the Belleville spring design allows easy access without major disassembly.
The 7/8-inch on-center mounting pattern on the shifter stub accepts most aftermarket shift levers, so you can run your preferred stick and knob.
