The stock TKO shifter's bulky turret forces tunnel modifications in most classic muscle car applications -- cutting sheetmetal is never the ideal solution. The MDL Qwik Stik eliminates that headache with its compact, precision-engineered profile that clears factory shifter openings without cutting the floor. This short-throw shifter positions your lever exactly where you need it: 2" left of center, with the choice of straight up or .5" forward bias for perfect ergonomics in your specific interior.
The engineering centers on a billet aluminum body that houses a Belleville spring detent system instead of traditional mechanical stops. This design delivers two critical advantages: crisp, positive engagement without the binding common to stop-based systems, and simplified serviceability that doesn't require disassembly when maintenance is needed. Belleville washers provide excellent detent feel, particularly noticeable in the 2-3 shift. The anodized aluminum construction resists corrosion while keeping weight minimal -- every ounce matters in a performance build.
