Description
Non-console first-gen Camaros rely on this retainer plate to seal the shifter boot to the transmission tunnel floor. Without it, the boot has nothing to clamp against, leaving a gap that lets dirt, moisture, exhaust fumes, and road noise pour into the cabin. This die-formed steel plate provides a solid mounting surface while applying even tension around the boot's perimeter for a tight, long-lasting seal.
The plate serves double duty as both a structural floor bracket and a boot retention ring, eliminating the need for separate components. Die-forming produces consistent bends and mounting holes, so installation lines up with factory locations without modification. The black finish matches original GM specifications for a period-correct appearance on restoration projects.
Fitment covers 1967-1968 Camaro models equipped with 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmissions that were not optioned with a center console. For 1969 Camaros, this plate fits 3-speed manual transmissions without console only. This is an exact reproduction of GM Part #3893854, manufactured to GM Group #4.015 standards for drop-in compatibility.
