    Description

    The TREMEC T56 utilizes a reverse lockout solenoid to prevent accidental shifts into reverse while attempting to engage 5th gear--a critical safety feature because reverse and 5th are located very close to each other on the shift pattern. When the solenoid isn't energized, spring pressure against the shift rail makes reverse engagement difficult. When powered, the solenoid retracts the pin, allowing smooth entry into reverse. The problem? Classic cars and restomod builds lack the factory PCM logic to control this solenoid, leaving builders to either muscle through the lockout or rig up makeshift solutions.

    This 6-foot harness provides the factory-style snap-in connector that mates directly with the T56's reverse lockout solenoid. The extended length gives you the flexibility to route wiring cleanly through the transmission tunnel, up through the firewall, and to your control module location without splicing or extending. The protective covering shields the conductors from exhaust heat, sharp edges, and underbody moisture--critical for a harness that lives in a harsh environment.

    This harness is designed to work with MDL's MD-700-0100-2 reverse lockout control module, which monitors vehicle speed via the VSS signal and automatically energizes the solenoid below approximately 5-10 MPH for easy reverse engagement, then de-energizes it at higher speeds to prevent accidental shifts. The result is OEM-style lockout behavior without relying on makeshift brake-light-switch wiring or manual override buttons. Fits all TREMEC T56 6-speed transmissions in Ford and GM applications.
