Key Features
- Factory-style 2-wire connector plugs directly into T56 reverse lockout solenoid
- Pre-wired pigtail eliminates custom splicing and unreliable field connections
- Compatible with TREMEC T56 6-speed transmissions
- Essential for wiring to aftermarket reverse lockout control modules, brake switches, or manual toggles
Description
The TREMEC T56 6-speed uses a reverse lockout solenoid to prevent accidental shifts into reverse while attempting to engage 5th gear--a real concern because reverse and 5th are positioned dangerously close in the shift gate. When swapping a T56 into a classic vehicle originally equipped with a T5, T45, or older 4/5-speed transmission, the factory electronics lack support for this solenoid, leaving builders without a clean way to wire the lockout system.
This pre-wired solenoid harness provides the electrical connection your reverse lockout needs. The factory-style connector snaps directly onto the solenoid mounted on the transmission case, eliminating the guesswork and potential wiring errors that come with spliced connections. The solenoid operates simply: when energized at low vehicle speeds, the lockout retracts to allow reverse engagement; de-energized at higher speeds, it mechanically blocks the shift gate from entering reverse.
Use this harness to connect the solenoid to an aftermarket reverse lockout control module (speed-based), a brake pedal switch circuit, or a manual dashboard toggle. The harness gives you the clean starting point you need for whatever activation method you choose--just run your control wiring to this pigtail and plug into the transmission.
Compatible with all TREMEC T56 6-speed transmissions. A simple, inexpensive component that prevents frustrating wiring headaches during your swap or build.
