Description
When your Tilton hydraulic release bearing starts showing signs of fluid leakage or inconsistent clutch operation, you don't need to replace the entire assembly. This genuine Tilton seal kit (P/N 62-905) delivers a cost-effective solution that restores your HRB to factory performance. The replacement seals are the same high-quality components originally installed in your release bearing when new.
Tilton's engineering centers on their unique mono-seal technology. The high-temperature quad-tensioner seal ensures proper seal tension throughout the bearing's service life, which is why Tilton HRBs maintain consistent pedal feel even as the clutch wears. The resilient orange wiper seal serves as your guard against unwanted HRB bore damage by preventing debris from entering the hydraulic bore. This dual-seal system has been tested to hundreds of thousands of actuations without failure.
Installation requires careful attention to seal orientation and proper lubrication. The inner quad seal element can easily be displaced if fitted without the proper installation tool, which can result in fluid leaking past the seal and the unit not functioning. When installing the new seals, ensure the flat side of the main hydraulic seal rides against the piston and always use the included rubber grease. Tilton's seal installation tool (P/N 96-002, sold separately) makes proper seal replacement straightforward.
This seal kit is compatible with all Tilton 600 and 6000 series hydraulic release bearings, making it a universal rebuild solution for most street and racing applications.
