    Description

When you swap in a 5- or 6-speed manual transmission, your factory speedometer gear ratio goes out the window. The new transmission's final drive ratio won't mesh with your original speedo gear, leaving your speedometer reading inaccurately--sometimes wildly so. This 18-tooth yellow driven gear lets you dial in the correct speedometer calibration for your specific tire size and rear axle ratio combination.

This driven gear fits the full range of Ford-pattern TREMEC transmissions: T5, T45, TKO, TKX, and T56 Magnum. The industry-standard yellow color coding makes identification simple--no guessing which tooth count you're running when it's time for service or recalibration after a gear ratio change. The precision-molded construction ensures consistent tooth engagement with the drive gear for accurate, reliable speedometer readings mile after mile.

Installation is straightforward--the gear slides directly into the transmission's speedometer drive housing. If your speedometer calibration calculations call for more than 21 teeth (the maximum available driven gear size), you'll need to reduce the drive gear tooth count instead. Use a speedometer gear calculator with your tire diameter, axle ratio, and transmission drive gear tooth count to determine the correct driven gear for your application.

    FAQs

    Q. Why do I need to change my speedo gear? A. The 5 or 6-speed transmission's final drive ratio will not work with your OE speedo gear, and we want your speedometer to read accurately.
