Description
TREMEC T-56 Magnum, TKX, TKO, and T5 transmissions use a Ford-based mechanical speedometer drive, which creates a problem when you're running a GM chassis with a 7/8" threaded speedometer cable. Without an adapter, you're stuck either fabricating a custom cable or dealing with a leak-prone import solution that fails at the worst possible time.
This precision-machined adapter is engineered to eliminate the chronic leakage issues that plague cheaper alternatives. The double O-ring seal system addresses leaks at the transmission case opening, while a dedicated internal seal prevents fluid from wicking up through the cable attachment point—a common failure mode on single-seal designs. The Swiss steel drive spindle provides extra strength and accuracy for consistent speedometer readings over the life of the build.
The billet housing paired with a naval brass bushing ensures smooth cable rotation and extended service life, even in high-vibration environments. The one-piece construction eliminates the potential leak paths and wear points found in multi-piece adapter assemblies.
