Description
Swapping a TREMEC TKO or TKX 5-speed into your C2 Corvette creates a driveline length problem - this custom steel driveshaft solves it with proper fitment and the strength to handle modern transmission torque. Built specifically for '63-'67 Corvettes running TKO or TKX conversions, this shaft features a removable 31-spline slip yoke that allows you to pull the driveshaft without touching the transmission - a major advantage for service and maintenance work.
The tube itself is constructed from 2" DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) seamless steel, which delivers 15% greater strength than OEM tubing. DOM tubing offers superior mechanical properties including increased hardness and tensile strength compared to standard welded tubing, plus tighter dimensional tolerances that make precision balancing easier to achieve. The result is a driveshaft that handles high torque loads while maintaining a smooth, vibration-free rotation.
Power transfers through 1330 series u-joints - a step up from the smaller 1310 joints found in many factory applications. The 1330 series uses 1.062" bearing caps and a 3.625" overall width, providing greater driveline angle capability and improved durability under hard launches and sustained high-RPM operation. Each driveshaft is professionally high-speed balanced and finished in black paint for a clean underbody appearance.
