The 2.66 first gear pulls hard off the line, while the double overdrive (0.80 fifth, 0.63 sixth) drops highway RPMs dramatically for quiet, fuel-efficient cruising.
The Magnum is TREMEC's aftermarket version of the TR-6060 - the same transmission found in factory supercars like the Corvette ZR1 and Viper ACR. The 85mm center distance provides a larger gear contact patch and stronger case than the original T56, supporting 700 lb-ft of torque capacity. Triple-cone synchronizers on gears 1-4 and double-cone synchronizers on 5-6 and reverse deliver accurate, smooth shifts even at high RPM. The fully reversible die-cast aluminum shifter provides incredibly short, low-effort throws with crisp engagement.
This Ford-pattern Magnum requires a separate bellhousing and pairs with V8 Ford engines from small-block Windsors to modular 4.6/5.0 Coyote applications with the appropriate bellhousing. The hardened steel guide tube accepts standard mechanical clutch fork designs, making it a straightforward swap for classic Mustang builds.
