Description
Conventional pivot-mount master cylinders suffer from a fundamental design flaw: the pivoting pushrod creates side thrust that binds in the bore, accelerates seal wear, and produces inconsistent pedal feel. The Tilton 78-Series eliminates this problem entirely with its rear spherical bearing mount and one-piece piston/pushrod design, ensuring the piston travels straight and true every time you press the pedal.
Machined from billet aluminum with Tilton's proprietary low-friction coatings, this 13/16" bore master cylinder delivers the smooth, repeatable action that serious clutch and brake applications demand. Each unit is hand-built and blueprinted for precise cut-off port travel, giving you consistent hydraulic response whether it's your first lap or your hundredth. At just 0.43 lbs, the 78-Series packs race-proven performance into a compact, lightweight package.
The 1.1" stroke provides ample hydraulic displacement for demanding clutch actuation, while the AN3 outlet port and 13/16" inlet port accommodate standard performance plumbing. An external dust boot shields the bore from debris, and O-ring sealing at the main rod guide ensures leak-free operation. This unit is a direct drop-in replacement for 77-Series master cylinders and mounts directly to Tilton 800-Series and 900-Series pedal assemblies, as well as custom pedal designs.
Note: Flexible lines must be used for inlet and outlet port plumbing. Not compatible with ABS systems.
