    Description

    Swapping a modern Gen 3 Hemi into a classic Mopar with a GM-pattern T56 Magnum demands a clutch that can handle serious torque without sacrificing street manners. The Tilton ST-246 twin-disc clutch and flywheel assembly solves that problem with a purpose-built design rated at 850 lb-ft. The twin-disc configuration doubles the total clutch surface area compared to a single-disc setup, which means you get the holding power of a racing clutch with the pedal effort and engagement feel of a high-quality street unit.

    Unlike many "performance clutches" that simply add a floater plate to a stamped steel OE-type pressure plate, the ST-246 was engineered from the ground up as a true twin-disc system. The precision-machined aluminum cover shares technology with Tilton's championship-winning OT-Series racing clutches, delivering far greater strength, stiffness, and dynamic balance than any stamped steel design. The high-mass pressure plate and floater plate are machined from the same proprietary materials used in Tilton's racing clutches, providing exceptional heat capacity and resisting the warpage that plagues lesser units under hard use.

    The organic friction discs feature sprung center hubs that dampen engine vibrations and reduce gearbox noise, delivering the kind of smooth engagement you can live with in daily driving and stop-and-go traffic. Heavy-duty straps connect the pressure plate and floater to the cover, minimizing the gear clatter common with twin-disc setups while ensuring a clean, positive release every time. The floater plate is twice the thickness of most competing twin-disc clutches, further reducing noise and improving heat dissipation during aggressive use.

    This kit is specifically configured for Gen 3 Hemi engines (including 5.7L, 6.1L, 6.2L Hellcat, and 6.4L) using the 8-bolt crankshaft pattern and mated to GM-pattern TREMEC T56 Magnum transmissions.
