Description
Drop a TKX into your '73 Malibu and you'll immediately face the classic problem: the stock TREMEC shifter doesn't land where your tunnel opening expects it. The Qwik Stik solves that with a close-ratio, short-throw shifter assembly that relocates the shift point to factory position while delivering lightning-quick response that puts the stock shifter to shame.
Each Qwik Stik is precision-machined from billet aluminum and hard anodized for extreme durability and corrosion resistance. The strategic 2" left offset combined with 1.95" or 2.45" backward positioning places the shifter exactly where your '73 Malibu's console or floor boot expects it. The smaller top turret clears the tunnel shifter opening without modification, and the rear shifter position with front socket configuration optimizes ergonomics for the A-body interior layout.
The Belleville spring system is the heart of this shifter's superior feel. Unlike conventional detent setups with mechanical stops that can break or wear out, the Belleville washers deliver exceptional detent pressure—crisp, defined 2-3 shifts that lock into gear with confidence. Without traditional stops, servicing is straightforward when the time comes. The 7/8" on-center mounting pattern accepts virtually every aftermarket shift lever on the market.
Note: This shifter does not include stops. The included high-temperature lower dust boot protects internal components from road debris and moisture.
