    Description

    Factory tunnel restrictions and awkward shifter positioning are the enemies of a satisfying manual transmission swap. The TKX's compact case fits most classic tunnels, but the stock shifter location often lands the lever where your console or floor pan doesn't want it. The Qwik Stik Shifter solves this with a precision-machined assembly that relocates the shift lever to the factory-correct position for '60-'64 Galaxy, '68-'72 GTO/LeMans, '68-'72 Oldsmobile Cutlass, '62-'67 Chevy II/Nova, and '68-'74 Nova applications.

    The engineering centers on a billet aluminum housing with a smaller top turret profile designed to clear tight tunnel openings. The 2" left offset stub can be configured straight up or .5" forward positioned to dial in exact shifter placement for your specific application. Belleville washers provide the detent force - this eliminates sloppy gates and delivers the crisp shift engagement that distinguishes a properly calibrated drivetrain. The spring-loaded design means no mechanical stops to wear out or break, which simplifies servicing when needed.

    This shifter mounts directly to TKX transmissions rated at 600 lb-ft of torque in the rear shifter position with front socket orientation. Tunnel modification is required on all applications except 1968-1974 Nova. MDL highly recommends pairing this shifter with their Side Shift Front transmission configuration for optimal lever positioning.

    Q. Why do I need a different shifter? A. The MDL Qwik Stik has a smaller top turret to clear the tunnel shifter opening. It is a short-throw shifter with lightning quick response, it is anodized for long life and has no stops to break or replace, as well as many other features over the stock shifter.
