    Third-generation Camaro and Firebird owners swapping to a TKX run into one consistent headache: shifter location. The TKX's compact case clears most tunnels without cutting, but the factory shifter rarely lands where the console opening needs it. The MDL Qwik Stik solves that problem with a precision-engineered mounting plate that repositions the shift stub 1.65" or 2.15" backward, placing your shift knob exactly where it belongs in 1982-1992 F-body applications.

    This short-throw, close-ratio shifter delivers more than just correct positioning. The billet aluminum construction shaves weight while standing up to aggressive use. Belleville washers provide the crisp detent feel that makes 2-3 shifts quick and confident, whether you're cruising or banging gears at high RPM. The high-temperature dust boot seals the lower end of the assembly, keeping transmission fluid in and road grime out.

    Unlike factory shifters with breakable stops, the Qwik Stik's no-stops design relies on the transmission's internal gates for shift control. This means you can service or replace the shifter without pulling the trans. The standard 7/8" on-center mounting pattern on the stub accepts most aftermarket shift levers, so you can run the stick style you prefer.     Q. Why do I need a different shifter? A. The MDL Qwik Stik has a smaller top turret to clear the tunnel shifter opening. It is a short-throw shifter with lightning quick response, it is anodized for long life and has no stops to break or replace, as well as many other features over the stock shifter.
