Description
Converting to a TREMEC 6-speed Magnum means wiring three critical electrical functions: the vehicle speed sensor, reverse lockout solenoid, and reverse lights. Traditionally, this required up to five separate components—signal converters, lockout controllers, pigtails, and individual harnesses—all needing integration. The Bowler 3-in-1 Harness consolidates everything into a single pre-wired solution with an intelligent, Bluetooth-configurable controller.
The T56 Magnum and TR6060 place reverse gear dangerously close to 5th gear, creating real potential for accidental engagement at highway speed. The reverse lockout solenoid uses a spring-loaded pin to resist shifts into reverse when de-energized. Most DIY wiring ties the solenoid to the brake light switch—a flawed approach since braking at speed still allows reverse engagement. This harness uses speed-based control like the OE system: the lockout engages above 4 MPH and releases only when the vehicle slows to 0-3 MPH. These thresholds are fully adjustable through the free smartphone app.
The dual speed sensor outputs solve one of the most frustrating wiring challenges in modern builds. Your ECM may need a different signal than your electronic speedometer or cruise control, forcing multiple converters. This harness provides two completely independent outputs—each calibrated separately with any pulse count and ratio you need. The outputs generate a square wave signal from approximately -5V to +5V, and automatically shift to 0V to +10V when your ECM requires a positive-only input. Works seamlessly with popular gauges from Classic Instruments, Auto Meter, and Dakota Digital.
The compact epoxy-sealed controller mounts directly to the VSS output using the existing bolt—no additional mounting hardware or locations needed. Power comes from a switched +12V circuit with ground to the negative battery post or engine block. This harness fits Ford & GM Standard T56 Magnum and Ford TR6060 transmissions. Note: Does not work with 2019 and newer Mustang ECM (Wavelength system).
