Description
When TREMEC introduced the T56 Magnum in 2009, it solved the problem builders had been chasing for years: how to get bulletproof six-speed strength with OEM-level refinement in an aftermarket package. Based heavily on the TR-6060 - the same transmission found in factory supercars - the Magnum combines TREMEC's current OEM design and manufacturing technologies with the most popular features of their TKO 5-speed. The result is the smoothest-shifting, strongest, and most versatile 6-speed aftermarket transmission TREMEC has ever produced.
This TUET11011 features the wide-ratio 2.97 first gear, making it ideal for street-driven builds that want strong off-the-line acceleration without sacrificing highway drivability. The 0.74 fifth and 0.50 sixth gears deliver true double overdrive, dropping RPM for relaxed cruising and improved fuel economy. Spring-loaded ball-type synchronizer inserts reduce friction and eliminate notchy shifting, resulting in incredibly short, smooth shifts with crisp engagement.
The engineering upgrades over the original T56 are substantial. Face widths of the gears have been significantly widened to handle more torque, while redesigned one-piece shift forks with permanently mounted shift links eliminate the float and incomplete engagement that plagued earlier designs. The 85mm center distance provides the robust gear geometry needed to handle 700 lb-ft reliably. Multiple shifter locations accommodate different builds, and the reversible shifter assembly allows changing shift lever position simply by flipping the shift cover.
Compatible with Ford modular engines using the appropriate bellhousing (sold separately). Uses Dexron III ATF - no exotic fluids required. Made in the USA by TREMEC.
