The original T56 topped out around 450 lb-ft - fine for stock applications, but a liability once you started adding power. The TREMEC T56 Magnum solves that problem decisively, delivering 700 lb-ft of torque capacity in a purpose-built aftermarket package based on the TR-6060 architecture found in factory supercars like the Corvette ZR1 and Dodge Viper ACR.
This wide-ratio version (TUET11012) features a 2.97 first gear for aggressive launches and street-light acceleration, while the double overdrive - 0.74 in fifth and 0.50 in sixth - drops highway RPM significantly for better fuel economy and reduced engine wear. TREMEC widened the gear faces substantially over the original T56, then added 2-piece laser-beam welded construction for precise control of tooth angles, pitch, and alignment. Triple-cone synchronizers on gears 1-4 and double-cone on 5-6 deliver smooth, high-rpm shifts without grinding or balking - even when you're banging through the gears hard.
