    Description

    When your Ford small block is pushing serious torque, you need a clutch that won't fail when it matters. The Tilton ST-246 delivers 1250 lb-ft capacity through solid-hub cerametallic discs that provide positive, precise engagement for street/strip duty. Unlike stamped steel pressure plates with added floaters, the ST-246 was engineered from the ground up as a true performance twin-disc clutch.

    The precision-machined aluminum cover shares technology from Tilton's championship-winning OT-Series racing clutches, delivering superior strength, stiffness, and dynamic balance compared to OEM stamped steel. The floater plate runs twice the thickness of competitors, which allows for the solid hub design, eliminates gear clatter, and provides exceptional heat dissipation. Both the main pressure plate and floater plate are machined from Tilton's proprietary racing clutch materials for maximum heat capacity and warp resistance.

    The billet chromoly steel flywheel features an integrated 157-tooth ring gear and a precision register that locates the clutch for optimal clutch/flywheel balance -- a significant improvement over loose-fitting bolts and dowels used with stamped steel systems. The zero-balance configuration works with internally balanced Ford 289, 302, 351W, and 351C engines. Heavy-duty straps attach the pressure and floater plates to the cover, minimizing noise and providing clean clutch release.

    Designed for Ford small block engines with 26-spline TREMEC transmissions. This assembly does not include a pilot bearing or throwout bearing. TREMEC models 11010, 11011, and 16884 require the guide tube to be trimmed 0.5" to prevent disc interference. Magnum XL installations require MD-900-2505-A adapter, hose, and fitting. Backed by Tilton's nearly 50 years of racing clutch expertise.
