    Description

    Fox-body and SN95 Mustang clutch cables are notorious for clearance headaches, binding against headers, and developing a heavy, draggy pedal feel as they wear. This MDL Lightfoot Series external hydraulic slave cylinder kit eliminates those problems by converting your 1979-1993 Mustang's aluminum T5, TKO, or TKX bellhousing from cable operation to reliable hydraulic actuation.

    The slave cylinder mounts directly to the bellhousing fork opening behind the original cable fork, pushing the fork instead of pulling it for proper clutch release. This rear-push design provides exhaust clearance that clutch cables simply cannot match, making it compatible with long-tube headers while keeping the cylinder accessible for installation and service. The adjustable pushrod allows you to dial in precise clutch engagement without pulling the bellhousing.

    Engineered as a complete system, this kit pairs seamlessly with MDL LF Series master cylinder kits for a fully integrated hydraulic clutch conversion. The 0.75-inch bore slave cylinder delivers consistent pedal feel and full clutch release when matched with the appropriate master cylinder.     Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
