    Description

Clutch cables in SN95 Mustangs create two persistent problems: they bind and drag as they wear, making pedal effort progressively heavier, and they route directly through areas where long tube headers and larger exhaust systems generate enough heat to melt them. The LF Series external hydraulic slave kit solves both issues by converting your 1996-1999 4.6L Mustang's T45 from cable actuation to reliable hydraulic release.

The engineering centers on mounting the slave cylinder inside the bellhousing itself, where it pushes the original cable fork from behind rather than attempting to work around cable routing constraints. This placement eliminates the heat exposure that destroys cables over time while maintaining the stock fork geometry Ford specified for smooth engagement. The 0.75-inch bore cylinder delivers the precise fluid displacement needed to fully actuate the clutch without over-travel or bottoming, and the adjustable push rod accommodates fitment variations between different clutch combinations and flywheel thicknesses.

Installation requires no bellhousing modifications - the kit uses the existing fork opening and stock bolt locations for straightforward access and serviceability. When paired with MDL's LF Series master cylinder kits, the system creates a complete engineered solution that takes all the guesswork out of hydraulic conversion while delivering maximum results. Designed specifically for 1996-1999 4.6L Mustangs with T45 transmissions and stock bellhousings.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
