Description
MDL's front shift T5 tail housings move the shifter pivot point forward for better ergonomics in classic builds - but that custom location means stock shifters won't work. The Qwik Stik solves that problem with a purpose-built short-throw design engineered specifically for MDL front shift applications.
The close-ratio geometry reduces throw distance for faster, more precise gear changes. A smaller top turret clears tunnel shifter openings that would bind larger units, eliminating the need for floor modifications. Billet aluminum construction sheds weight compared to cast alternatives while providing superior rigidity for a direct, mechanical feel at the lever.
Belleville washers replace conventional detent springs, delivering a crisp 2-3 shift feel that won't degrade over time. The no-stops design means there are no plastic components to break or replace - and when servicing is eventually needed, the Belleville spring system allows quick disassembly. The 7/8-inch on-center stub mounting accepts most aftermarket shift levers, giving you flexibility in handle and knob selection.
This shifter is compatible exclusively with the MD-510-1001 front shift T5 tail shaft housing or any MDL front shift T5 front position transmission.
