    Description

    For years, car enthusiasts have lived with awkward T5 shifter placement, forcing tunnel modifications or compromised seating positions. MDL's Front Shift T5 tail housing solution brings driving comfort and minimal tunnel modifications to hot rods, street rods, Ford Ranger V8 conversions, and tight-layout builds requiring improved seat clearance. This Qwik Stik shifter is the dedicated companion piece for that system.

    This shifter has been specifically engineered to work exclusively with MDL's MD-510-1001 front shift T5 tail housings or any MDL front shift T5 front position transmission. It cannot be used with standard shift position tail housings - the unique bolt pattern and pivot geometry of MDL's front shift design require this purpose-built shifter. The front shift position places the shift pivot point at 11.75 inches back from the main case, and this shifter provides either 1" or 1.5" backward offset to dial in your exact lever placement.

    The engineering advantage comes from Belleville washers that provide excellent detent feel, delivering crisp 2-3 shifts that eliminate the vague, sloppy engagement common in stock shifters. The Belleville spring system also eliminates traditional stops, allowing easy field servicing without disassembly headaches. Billet aluminum construction saves weight while the compact top turret clears tight floor openings without requiring additional tunnel work.

    The shifter stub uses the standard 7/8-inch on-center mounting that accepts most aftermarket shift levers. A high-temperature lower dust and oil boot is included to protect the mechanism. Simply attach your preferred shift lever, boot, and shift knob and you're ready for precise, reliable shifting. Proudly made in the USA.

    Q. Why do I need a different shifter? A. The MDL Qwik Stik has a smaller top turret to clear the tunnel shifter opening. It is a short-throw shifter with lightning quick response, it is anodized for long life and has no stops to break or replace, as well as many other features over the stock shifter.
