    Key Features

    • Eliminates worn, bent mechanical clutch linkage for lighter pedal effort and improved actuation
    • Requires only 1 inch clearance in front of the bellhousing for maximum header compatibility
    • Compatible with OEM aluminum and Quick Time bellhousings using dimple-style clutch fork
    • Works with short dimple forks (6.5-inch fulcrum to dimple) and long dimple forks (7.0-inch fulcrum to dimple)
    • 0.813-inch bore slave cylinder delivers optimal release force for GM diaphragm and three-finger pressure plates
    • Cylinder mounts externally and pushes from rear of fork - clears headers while allowing service without transmission removal
    • Cylinder housing can be clocked to position fittings facing side or top as needed
    • 24-inch -4AN braided stainless steel hydraulic line included
    • Pairs with any MDL master cylinder series for complete hydraulic conversion
    • Does NOT fit Lakewood 77-150 bellhousing or factory cast iron bellhousings

    Description

Eliminate the heavy pedal effort and poor clutch release caused by worn, bent, or misaligned mechanical linkage. MDL's Eliminator Series external slave cylinder kit retains your existing mechanical release arm and throwout bearing but actuates the fork hydraulically - delivering consistent pedal feel and full clutch release with significantly less effort than factory Z-bar linkage. The compact slave cylinder requires only one inch of clearance forward of the bellhousing, making it compatible with long-tube headers that fit alongside unaltered factory mechanical linkage.

The slave cylinder mounts to the bellhousing bolts and pushes from the rear of the fork, positioning the cylinder away from header collectors while making installation and future service accessible without pulling the transmission. The cylinder housing can be clocked to orient the -4AN fittings toward the side or top depending on your chassis clearances. An adjustable pushrod allows precise setup of clutch release travel regardless of pressure plate finger height.

This kit requires a constant-contact throwout bearing and proper clutch fork geometry. It fits 1964-1972 Chevy 3 and 4-speed OEM aluminum bellhousings and Quick Time bellhousings using a dimple-style clutch fork. Both short dimple forks (6.5-inch fulcrum to dimple, part MD-401-3001) and long dimple forks (7.0-inch fulcrum to dimple, part MD-401-3000) are compatible. Factory cast iron bellhousings require modification to clear the bracket. When paired with MDL LF Series or other MDL master cylinder kits, the system is engineered to work together - eliminating guesswork and delivering maximum results. Made in the USA.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
