    Description

The 2001-2004 Mustang GT's cable-actuated clutch system has well-documented limitations. Cables stretch and drag over time, creating heavy pedal effort that only gets worse. Header clearance becomes a problem with any serious exhaust upgrade - routing a clutch cable around long-tube headers invites heat damage and binding. The LF Series External Hydraulic Slave Kit solves both problems by converting the stock TR3650 bellhousing to external hydraulic clutch release.

This kit mounts the slave cylinder just inside the bellhousing using the factory bolt locations - no cutting, welding, or case modifications. The cylinder pushes the original cable fork from behind through a bolt-on pivot socket, so you keep the OEM fork and throwout bearing. That rear-push design moves the cylinder away from your exhaust, eliminating heat soak and providing room for headers and larger primaries. The adjustable push rod lets you dial in clutch engagement precisely where you want it.

The 0.75-inch bore slave cylinder is sized to work with MDL LF Series master cylinder kits as a matched hydraulic system. Engineered together, the bore ratios deliver proper pedal feel and full clutch release without the guesswork of mixing components. The -4AN braided stainless steel line handles hydraulic pressure without expansion, and the easy-access bleed port makes air removal straightforward. Made in the USA with lifetime technical support included.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.

Used the wilwood master and adtr pedals to swap in a tr3650 into a crown Victoria. Took a little modification to the fork to get full engagement.
