Description
The TREMEC TR4050 is a serious heavy-duty 5-speed built to handle 600 lb-ft of torque in demanding truck and off-road applications. That kind of capability deserves a shifter that matches — not a sloppy, oversized factory unit or an ill-fitting universal adapter. The MDL Qwik Stik is purpose-built for the TR4050 tall body transmission, delivering a close-ratio, short-throw shift action that brings the shift point up to factory position without compromise.
This shifter is precision-machined from billet aluminum and anodized for durability, mounting directly to your transmission with no guesswork or fabrication required. Belleville washers provide positive detent force, locking each gate with authority — especially noticeable on the critical 2-3 shift. The spherical mounting design eliminates binding through the full throw, while the high-temperature lower dust boot keeps contaminants out of the mechanism. Unlike factory shifters with breakable stops, the Qwik Stik uses a Belleville spring system that allows easy servicing when needed without removing the entire assembly.
This configuration features a straight-up stub with no offset, matching the OEM replacement position for the TR4050. The 7/8-inch on-center mounting accepts most aftermarket shift levers, so you can attach your preferred lever, boot, and knob setup directly. Note: This shifter does not include stops.
