Description
Relocating the shifter in a classic Mustang or hot rod often means the factory shifter won't clear the floor opening or land in the right spot. The MDL Qwik Stik is engineered specifically for MDL front shift T5 tail housings (MD-510-1001) and any MDL front shift T5 front-position transmission, putting the lever exactly where you need it while delivering the short-throw, close-ratio action serious drivers demand.
The compact top turret is sized to slip through restrictive tunnel openings that would interfere with bulkier shifters. Billet aluminum construction keeps mass low while standing up to aggressive shifting. A Belleville spring detent mechanism creates the positive, tactile feedback that makes the 2-3 shift feel crisp and precise, with no vague gate feel. The no-stops design means there are no plastic or metal stops to break or wear out, and it also makes internal service straightforward when the time comes.
This particular configuration provides a 2-inch left offset with your choice of 1.950" or 2.450" forward positioning from the front socket location. The 7/8-inch on-center stub pattern accepts most aftermarket shift levers, so you can select the lever length and knob that suit your driving style. A high-temperature dust boot seals out debris. Note that this shifter is compatible only with MDL front shift tail housings; it will not work with standard shift-position tail housings. Attach your lever, boot, and knob and you're ready to row gears.
