    Description

    Stock T56 and T5 shifters create a common problem in swap and restomod builds: bulky turrets that don't clear factory floor openings without cutting sheet metal. The MDL Qwik Stik solves this with a narrow shift body designed to slip through the tunnel opening as-is, delivering a professional installation without bodywork modifications.

    This billet aluminum shifter is engineered as a close-ratio, short-throw unit that places your shift lever precisely where it belongs. The 2" left, 1.95" or 2.45" forward offset brings the lever up in the factory position using a T56 Non-Magnum 6-speed and S-10 style T5 5-speed applications.

    The Belleville washer detent system is what separates the Qwik Stik from mushy, vague factory shifters. This spring-loaded design creates a firm, mechanical click into each gate, with especially crisp 2-3 shifts that inspire confidence at high RPM. The no-stops construction means there are no fragile plastic pieces to break or wear out, and servicing the shifter when needed doesn't require transmission removal or complex teardown procedures.

    Installation is straightforward: the precision-machined base bolts directly to your transmission's square shift base using the included 3/8" hardware. The 7/8" on-center shifter stub accepts most aftermarket shift levers, so you can run your preferred handle, boot, and knob combination. The anodized finish resists corrosion in harsh tunnel environments. Note: A rear shift position cover plate (Item #80520-07) may be required depending on your application.     Q. Why do I need a different shifter? A. The MDL Qwik Stik has a smaller top turret to clear the tunnel shifter opening. It is a short-throw shifter with lightning quick response, it is anodized for long life and has no stops to break or replace, as well as many other features over the stock shifter.
